Home Watch Service FAQs
Explore common questions about our services and find answers to help you understand our offerings better.
What is Home Watch?
Home Watch is “a visual inspection of a home or property, looking for obvious issues.”
What is Home Watch Sentinels?
We are an insured and bonded company serving the Bonita and Estero area. We monitor your property and address potential issues that can occur while your home is vacant. Unlike remote alarm monitoring services, we provide an on-site physical presence and can assist with a variety of requests. Owner Edward Kersey is a graduate of the Home Watch Academy.
Are you a house sitter service?
No, we are not a house sitter service. Our core service consists of periodic visits to your home, where we follow a specific, mutually agreed-upon checklist. We are on-site weekly or bi-weekly, taking pride in ensuring your home remains in the same condition as when you left it.
What type of reporting can I expect from you?
Home Watch Sentinels provides a detailed report after each visit, which includes photos and descriptions of any identified issues. Reports are sent via email for your records and peace of mind.
We have a neighborhood watch program. Isn’t that the same thing?
No, neighborhood watch programs are typically passive and focus on general community safety. Home Watch Sentinels offers a more thorough and detailed inspection of your property’s interior and exterior, going beyond what a neighborhood watch program provides.
Are your services expensive?
We believe our services are reasonably priced for the value we provide. The potential cost of unaddressed damage, such as leaks or pest infestations, far outweighs the cost of our services. Pricing details are available during a free consultation.
If you find a problem, what type of notification will I receive?
After every visit, you will receive a detailed report, including photos and descriptions of any issues identified. If immediate action is required to prevent further damage, we will contact you immediately to discuss the situation and the necessary next steps.
An alarm company monitors my home. What additional value do you provide?
While alarm companies monitor entry points and fire alarms, they do not inspect for weather damage, broken pipes, mold, pests, or operational issues with mechanical systems. Home Watch Sentinels provides these essential services, acting as an added layer of protection. Additionally, we can serve as a local point of contact for your alarm company.
What are your credentials?
We are graduates of the Home Watch Academy. We are fully insured, bonded, and trained to handle all aspects of our services.
Can you help coordinate contractors working on my home?
Yes, we can provide access for contractors and remain on-site during their work for an hourly charge. We request at least 48 hours’ notice to schedule our personnel.
Are you a property inspector?
No, we are not a property inspector. Property inspectors are typically involved in real estate transactions and conduct detailed assessments of a property’s structure, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Can you assist with home maintenance services?
While we do not provide full home maintenance services, we can handle light repairs and recommend trusted contractors or vendors. Additionally, we can coordinate access to your property for maintenance needs.
